Wearing masks now required in Myrtle Beach to curb the spread of COVID-19

Myrtle Beach has passed a mandate to wear masks in public places that goes into effect at midnight Thursday.

The mask requirements will be in effect through Labor Day.

The Myrtle Beach City Council passed the ordinance requiring masks in retail and grocery stores, restaurants and other commercial establishments in response to the growing spread of the coronavirus.

Masks will also be required in the common areas of lodging.
