Myrtle Beach Council race draws four candidates on first filing day

Updated with additional candidate filings.

The Myrtle Beach City Council election drew four candidates Friday, the first day to file for the Nov. 5 election.

Incumbents Phil Render and Mary Jeffcoat filed their paperwork for reelection.

Former Councilman Wayne Gray and realtor John Krajc also filed to run for the three open seats.

Candidates have until Sept. 6 to file their statement of candidacy with the city clerk.

Candidates must also file a statement of economic interest and a campaign disclosure form with the state Ethics Commission.
