The Horry County Council decides Tuesday who will be their new administrator.
Hopefully, this will allow our elected leaders to move beyond the tumultuousness of the last six months, which has distracted them with politics rather than the people’s business.
It’s past time to put political maneuvering aside.
The council has a hospitality fee to defend, or eliminate, while county growth also demands their attention.
Hiring an administrator is the first step to getting back on the right track.
The council will vote on the new administrator at their 6 p.m. meeting Tuesday at the Horry County Government and Justice Center.
Other items of interest on the agenda, the council will authorize advertising and promotional funding from state accommodation taxes.
Also, council will consider whether to appoint former Horry County Councilman Jody Prince to the Planning Commission.
Prince would replace Kim Hardee, who no longer lives in the district she represented.
