These 30 groups got accommodation tax dollars

The Myrtle Beach City Council this week approved more than $747,000 in funding from accommodation taxes to fund 30 different arts, cultural, sports and tourism events.

The tax is a two percent state tax charged on transient accommodations.

The 30 organizations are:

Carolina Master Chorale $10,000

Children’s Museum of SC $30,000

F.G Burroughs-S.B. Chapin Art Museum $75,000

First Presbyterian Concert Series $15,000

Long Bay Symphony $65,000

Myrtle Beach International Film Festival $9,500

South by South East $6,000

Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild $15,000

Baseball at the Beach $35,000

Beach Ball Classic $50,000

Beach United Football Club $5,000

Claire Chapin Epps Family Y $50,000

Coastal Futbol Alliance $20,000

Grand Strand Juniors $10,000

Mingo Bay Classic Baseball Tournament $15,000
