State Senator Luke Rankin, who represents a swath of Horry County that stretches from Conway to Myrtle Beach, appears to have drawn a challenger for the District 33 seat in this year’s elections.
Local financial advisor John Gallman posted an event on Facebook stating he will make a special announcement during a President’s Day event.
However, Gallman has already filed a campaign disclosure report with the S.C. State Ethics Commission revealing his intention to run for the District 33 state Senate seat.
The filing shows Gallman has donated $500 to his campaign effort.
Gallman has been actively campaigning on social media recently calling for judicial reform.
Rankin, who is an attorney, is the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
