Gov. McMaster to give state Coronavirus briefing Sunday afternoon

Gov. Henry McMaster and state public health officials will hold a media briefing at 4 p.m. Sunday to update the public on the state’s response to the coronavirus.

Only the governor has the authority to cancel school. It’s expected McMaster will address whether cancellations are forthcoming.

The briefing will be held at the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center in West Columbia.

The first presumptive positive case was reported in Horry County Saturday.
